Planning a Bridal Shower

This one isn’t so much for the brides as it is for the maids!  For most brides celebrating their weddings in the spring, summer, or fall, this is a great time for the bridal party to start thinking about planning their shower!  Showers can be so much fun and go in any direction.  Some of the staples? Check these out.

The Setting:  The place that you host a shower is key.  You want to make sure there is space enough for everything you’ve planned from the number of people to the food, to the gifts! We love this room at The Century House in Latham. The fireplace makes a great backdrop for photos while the bride to be opens her gifts and it’s just so warm and inviting, and rustic!  If you have guests traveling from out of the area, consider accessibility to major transportation and hotel accommodations!

Games: Games are great for social interaction and as an ice breaker at the shower.  Many times games are over thought- we think the simpler the better. Check out this great game called how well do you know the bride? It keeps people talking and guessing as to what the answer might be, just watch out if your friends or family are competitive! Bridal Bingo is always a good one too- keeps guests entertained as the bride to be opens her gifts!

The best thing to remember when you are planning a shower is to keep it simple and to always remember who it is for.  The bride to be should walk into the shower and have it scream her personality.  Carry that through the food, the games, the prizes and the favors!
